A rampant Week 1 is in the books with the public able to enjoy a bundle of close games with 9 matchups finishing within a touchdown. The newly minted Washington Commanders scoring a touchdown in the final minute, Pittsburgh Steelers forcing 5 turnovers against Joe Burrow to win in OT and Saquon Barkley two-point conversion to win the game were among the top storylines.
To begin Week 2, we have a heated AFC West rivalry in store with the Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs set to meet for the first of two matchups this season.
Chargers eeked out a win in typical Charger fashion making the fanbase sweat out a victory after leading by 11 points going into the 4th quarter.
LA was shut out in the 4Q which can be largely attributed to the absence of star wideout Keenan Allen. The elite route runner pulled up with a hamstring injury in the second quarter and has already been ruled out of the contest. His injury recovery will likely linger into Week 3 as well.
The defense played outstanding Week 1 with new free agent signing LB Khalil Mack proving his worth racking up 3 sacks and 6 combined tackles.
The other big time signing CB J.C. Jackson missed Week 1 as he recovers from offseason ankle surgery, there is optimism the stud D-man can play Thursday. Jackson managed his first limited practice after not practicing before Week 1.
The Chargers and Chiefs carried the highest team SIC scores heading into 2022 but after Week 1, the Chiefs remain atop after suffering just a few minor issues on Sunday.
Rookie first rounder Trent McDuffie suffered a significant hamstring injury and was placed on IR meaning he will miss the next four games. Although yet to establish himself, McDuffie is a loss to CB room low on depth.
Another player injured by what Head coach Andy Reid blamed on the loose sod at State Farm Stadium (Cardinals) is reliable kicker Harrison Butker. The kicker was carted off after suffering an ankle injury slipping while kicking off forcing the Chiefs to kick extra points with safety Justin Reid.
Butker will likely miss TNF.
RG Trey Smith has popped up on the injury report with an ankle issue which forced him to leave Week 1. The guard has logged limited practices all week but his situation should be monitored.
Injury-based Pick

Mike Williams O69.5 Receiving Yards
The hulking WR played poorly Week 1 and did nothing with Allen out but Herbert will need him to be a factor as they design a game-plan minus Allen. Williams is a big body that no CB on KC can match with combined with the McDuffie absence - spells trouble for the Chiefs secondary. Expect a rebound game for the Clemson alum.
