The Redskins running back is apparently dealing with a case of turf toe which puts his availability in some doubt given the importance of the fifth metatarsal phalangeal joint in terms of running back needing to push off and cut. Running back Adrian Peterson is healthy and projected starter Derrius Guice is several weeks away minimum from returning from injury reserve thus the Redskins are working free agent Josh Ferguson. Our best guess is this is not a prolonged absence for Thompson but this injury could affect him in the coming weeks.
