Christian McCaffrey Gets in Second Straight Limited Practice, Still Unlikely He Plays Against Eagles

All eyes are on star running back Christian McCaffrey and his progress from the hamstring injury that caused him to miss Week 4. He practiced in a limited capacity on Wednesday and Thursday, but based on limited practice video he still has trouble with burst and deceleration. McCaffrey told reporters his hamstring "feels good" and we have no doubt he is lobbying to play this week against the Eagles. However, McCaffrey is definitely not 100% healed from his hamstring strain and he has a high chance of reaggravation if he plays this week. A reaggravation of the injury would likely knock him out a month and the Panthers' medical staff have undoubtedly warned head coach Matt Rhule of this possibility. As much as we want to see the star fantasy running back return to play his exciting brand of football, we view Week 6 as a much more likely return for him. Chubba Hubbard will fill in for the Stanford alum if he misses Week 5. Hubbard had 57 yards on 13 rushes against the Cowboys last week.
