Christian McCaffrey is officially ruled out. There is no surprise here, as this was known pretty much all week that they would not rush him back from a right shoulder AC joint sprain. Head coach of the Carolina Panthers said he is hopeful McCaffrey can play next week, but it might be a little to soon. Due to his current contract situation and McCaffrey's young age, it doesn’t appear that the team will push him back or have him play with a painkiller injection. It continues to be our belief that the team wants to be conservative with their franchise player and not burn him out in a season where they aren't really contending, but building for the future. Mike Davis has been rock solid in relief of their young star, and he should take back over lead duties in this offense.
