Christian McCaffrey, the Panthers running back, does not have game designation for this week, but that does not mean that he is for sure playing. By rule he is still officially on injured reserve. He has been designated to return, but has not been activated to the 53 man roster yet. The assumption is he would be listed as questionable if he were activated. Head coach Matt Rhule has been cautious saying that he has been limited in practice and that he has a chance to play if there's no setback on Saturday. By the original timeline of six weeks, he should be healthy now. However, even if he does play we don't see him having his usual number of touches in the run and passing game as a three-down back. Expect to see Chuba Hubbard contribute as well this week against the Patriots.
