By this time, it is well known that Mosley endured a subpar outing versus the Patriots as we pointed out. He was unable to burst or move laterally, close on a player and at times was forced to jog / limp. He was pulled in the second half after the game was out of hand. He was stellar in week one, where he was dominant in the run game and had a interception for a touchdown. Now comes word from Mosley that "where it is at it will affect every move that I make at my position". Head coach Adam Gase said the injury is likely to bother him all year. It has been listed as a groin injury and it has been six weeks. Simple groin strains and even severe ones tend to improve with rest and treatment. It should get better before the end of the season, but at this point it is fair to ask if Mosley’s groin strain is in fact a core muscle injury. I'm sure the Jets and his doctors are doing everything they can but surgery for a sports hernia could be needed. At this point, I would expect at least a multi-week absence and possibility of a core muscle surgery which would leave him out a total of six weeks. Mosley seems to be on the verge of being lost for the season and put on injured reserve.
