No. 2 seed Connecticut lost a key cog in their championship chase when senior forward Dorka Juhasz went down in the 2nd quarter against NC State.
Juhasz appeared to suffer a left distal radius fracture after awkwardly landing directly on her arm on a layup attempt with 6:19 left in the 2nd quarter.
Juhasz will undoubtedly miss the rest of the Elite 8 game tonight and the rest of the tournament, should Connecticut advance to the Final Four or Championship Game.
The senior forward from Hungary was screaming in pain upon impact, and her injury inspired visible emotional reactions from Paige Bueckers and Geno Auriemma.
Juhasz is in her first year under Geno Auriema after transferring from Ohio State. She has taken a lesser role on the perennial title contenders, averaging 7.5 points and 5.8 rebounds in 20.4 minutes per game.
