The Virginia Tech defensive back, projected to be drafted in the first round, is undergoing lumbar micro discectomy surgery and media reports have him ready to go for training camp. Indeed, a three to four month recovery is not unreasonable depending on the medical review and exam. However the surgery may cost him draft position given the worry for longevity and the tendency for degenerative issues that are associated with this type of surgery. Farley may end up falling out of the first round, as a result of these longevity concerns, even if he is ready for the start of this upcoming season.
