Could Rams Get Four Key Players Back From IR For Conference Championship Game?

While the Rams still have depth issues at safety, they could get four key players back from IR for the Week 18 rematch against the 49ers.

Rookie inside linebacker Ernest Jones had his three-week practice window opened last Thursday, allowing him to return at any point before the Super Bowl.

He has not played since suffering an ankle injury Week 16 against the Vikings, but has a solid chance to return this week against San Francisco.

Jones finished the season with 61 combined tackles, 1 sack and 2 interceptions.

On Friday, the Rams also opened the practice windows for running back Darrell Henderson Jr., starting nose tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day and slot corner Robert Rochell.

Henderson has the best chance to return of those three, followed by Rochell, then Joseph-Day.

The Rams backup running back has not played since suffering an MCL sprain Week 16 against Minnesota and will likely have to beat out Sony Michel for touches. Cam Akers is the lead back for Los Angeles right now despite not being 100% from his July Achilles tendon tear.

Rochell has not played since Week 13 with an unspecified chest injury. The Rams need depth in the secondary and are likely to activate him ahead of Sunday's game.

Joseph-Day suffered a pectoral tendon tear in late October. It would be surprising to see him play effectively any time soon.

Backup nose tackle Greg Gaines has filled in well and is likely a better option than Joseph-Day at less than 100%.

The Rams are 3-point favorites at home against the 49ers, but that margin could increase if any of those four players are activated ahead of Sunday's game.
