Dak Prescott will need season ending surgery after suffering an ankle fracture vs the Giants. The only good news for Cowboys fans is that this is not career-ending. The ankle was caught on the field which forced it to point in a different direction and that caused the severe high ankle sprain. Prescott, as tough as they come, tried to self reduce it by pushing it back into place on the field. This didn’t work which signals a unstable fracture. Prescott will need to make sure there’s no infection, but this isn’t an Alex Smith situation. The good news, Darren Sproles suffered a similar injury and returned for a great career. It’s sad that Prescott is on a franchise tag and was unable to secure a huge contract this offseason, but he will be able to come back and earn a contract in the near future.
