Dallas Goedert's Ankle Fracture Minor, Not Season Ending

While news of a broken ankle seems catastrophic, Dallas Goedert's injury may be less severe than it seems. Any small structural damage to the bone is reported as a fracture, so this does not mean that his season is over. It seems he's had more of an avulsion or chip type fracture related to the high ankle sprain. His timetable for return remains in the moderate high ankle sprain territory. I would expect he goes on injured reserve for three weeks and returns to play in November. He was not carted off and he stayed on the sidelines. His ankle was weight-bearing the entire time, which means it's not a structural fracture and there is still optimism on Goedert playing a significant role with the Eagles this season.
