Dalvin Cook, the Vikings star running back, reportedly has a torn labrum in the left shoulder he dislocated against the 49ers Week 12. Our in-game assessment was that Cook has a solid chance to return Week 15 and we still believe that is the case. The Vikings play the winless Lions this Sunday, then face the Steelers the following Thursday. He should be able to return against the Bears on Monday night in Week 15.
The 26-year-old injured his right shoulder in 2019 and missed the final two games of the season before returning in the Wild Card round. He ran for 130 yards and 2 touchdowns in that victory over the Saints.
Alexander Mattison and Kene Nwangwu are good replacement options in the Vikings run game. Mattison will get a majority of the action on the ground.
