The Vikings star running back was injured on two plays where he fumbled tonight. In the first half, he was stripped of the ball by Jadeveon Clowney and then fell awkwardly on his right side. In the second half he was stripped again falling somewhat awkwardly and headed into the locker room after but has since returned to the bench. Cook has not returned to the game. By video, neither of these injuries seem significant and he was listed with a shoulder issue and was said to be questionable to return. Going back to the Week 11 Broncos game, on a the fourth quarter two point conversion, it appears by video that his chest injury listed on the report this week is indeed a right SC joint sprain that happens when Derek Wolfe lands on him. Monday night football's injury appeared to be an aggravation of the pre-existing right SC joint sprain. This type of injury can linger but it does not require surgery. This sprain seems mild in comparison to the sternoclavicular joint sprains that Tyreek Hill and John Ross suffered earlier this season. However, it could linger several more weeks.
