The Minnesota Vikings top rushing threat will miss Week 16 after testing positive for COVID-19 and will be unable to test out due to the mandatory 10-day quarantine as he is unvaccinated.
The Vikings play 10 days from now meaning Cook will be cutting it close but will likely return for the crucial divisional showdown with the Chicago Bears. The timeline depends on when he popped the positive not when he was placed on the reserve list.
This opens up another Alexander Mattison game as he just returned from the COVID reserve list Wednesday after missing Week 15 as he is also unvaccinated.
The Vikings are in possession of the final playoff spot and will need Mattison to improve on his 315 yards rushing yards when starting for Cook this season.
