Damian Lillard Injury: Portland PG Likely to Miss Time With Calf Strain

Trail Blazers' point guard Damian Lillard suffered a right calf strain in the third quarter of Wednesday's loss and was ruled out.

Calf strains are notoriously fickle and often linger, according to the Pro Basketball Docs, and the 32-year-old will likely miss multiple games with the injury.

The hope is Lillard let up before serious injury, but the soft-tissue injury could easily cause him to miss multiple weeks, according to the Pro Basketball Docs.

Lillard missed 38 combined games in his first nine seasons but played in only 29 games last season due to a lingering core muscle injury and subsequent surgery.

In his first four games, Lillard averaged 33.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.3 assists on 40% shooting and had 22 points in 26 minutes before the injury.
