Patriots running back Damien Harris is reportedly having surgery on his pinky finger. He has missed practice the last several days and doubt has been cast by the media about his availability for the Patriots opener. No matter what the surgery was our belief is that Harris can be suit up Week 1. Whether he will or not and his usage will depend on his head coach and may be based more on how much practice time he misses in the offense as opposed to his physical limitations. With Buddy taping and support we see him being able to play. Ball security is a potential concern but should be a minimal issue. The hand injury should not affect any blocking or even pass-catching abilities.
