Lions second-year running back D'Andre Swift is out this week against the Vikings and may not return until Week 15 against the Cardinals. Swift is dealing with a right shoulder SC joint sprain he suffered on Thanksgiving.
The winless Lions can afford to be cautious with Swift since they are out of playoff contention. The 22-year-old has not practiced since the injury and Detroit will more than likely start Jamaal Williams this Sunday. Rookie running back Jermar Jefferson will backup Williams, who had 15 rushes for 65 yards in replacement of Swift.
