Bills' cornerback Dane Jackson was taken from Monday's game in an ambulance after he suffered a neck hyperextension on a friendly-fire collision from diving teammate Tremaine Edmunds.
Based on initial video, the Pro Football Docs are hopeful that Jackson avoided any spinal cord or head injury, but have concern that he suffered a cervical fracture.
The 25-year reportedly has movement in all of his extremities and underwent an x-ray and a ct scan, among other tests, at a local hospital.
Sean McDermott said they are “hoping for more updates soon” but didn't have any more information about Jackson's injury.
According to the Pro Football Docs, Jackson appeared to suffer a potential cervical spinous process fracture – aka a clay-shoveler's fracture – which could heal before the end of the regular season without surgery.
Most importantly, while gruesome, the injury carries no risk of associated spinal cord or head injuries.
Jackson, a 2020 seventh-round pick, was elevated to a starting role because of Tre'Davious White's ACL recovery.
