Third-year Giants quarterback Daniel Jones returned to practice Thursday after suffering a concussion last Sunday against the Cowboys. The 24-year-old lowered his head to initiate contact on a goal-line run late in the second quarter, then got up to go back to the huddle before stumbling and regaining his balance. He was carted to the locker room and ruled out with a concussion. Although the stumble is an obvious concussion symptom, it does not mean his concussion was any more severe than normal. Jones appears to be progressing well through the concussion protocol and logged a limited practice Thursday. We expect him to practice fully on Friday, then see the independent neurologist. Assuming he passes all testing, Jones looks to be progressing well towards playing against the 4-1 Rams on Sunday.
However, Jones will be without star running back Saquon Barkley, who suffered an ankle injury against the Cowboys, and top receiver Kenny Golladay, who suffered a knee injury against Dallas.
