Darnold, Gilmore Out As Patriots Versus Jets Battle On MNF

Joe Flacco will start for the winless Jets once again, marking his third start for the team. Sam Darnold is recovering from that ailing right shoulder injury that he initially suffered Week 4. Darnold has a shot at returning next week but nothing is set in concrete yet and we will update his status as the week goes on. On the Patriots side, Stephen Gilmore will miss his second straight game due to the a knee injury. He has a chanve to return next week but he will indeed with the MNF matchup with the Jets. Combined with the opt-outs of Dont'a Hightower and Patrick Chung, the Patriots are flailing on defense as their rival Jets are clearly the healthier team heading into MNF.
