Rams running back Darrell Henderson Jr. was designated to return from IR Friday, but likely will not be activated for the game against Tampa Bay.
The third-year pro has not played since suffering an MCL sprain on his lone carry in Week 16. By that point, Sony Michel already had a firm grip on the starting role.
Cam Akers is now also in the mix for carries and had 95 scrimmage yards against Arizona, his second game back since tearing his Achilles in July.
Because Los Angeles has no reason to rush Henderson back, the ProFootballDocs team does not expect him to return until he is 100% healthy. That could potentially come in another week or two if the Rams are still alive in the playoffs.
Until then, expect split touches between Akers and Michel.
