DeAndre Hopkins Can Return From Knee Injury For Potential Playoff Run

Cardinals star receiver DeAndre Hopkins will reportedly miss the rest of the regular season with an injured right knee.

However, Dr. David Chao, ProFootballDoc, said Hopkins could be medically ready for a return right at the end of the regular season and will be healthy for a potential playoff run.

Hopkins was injured late in the Monday night game when he jumped for a pass, then Rams cornerback Darious Williams landed on the wideout's legs. By video, Chao said Hopkins appeared to suffer a mild right knee MCL sprain.

The MCL is an important ligament for a wide receiver's ability to cut, although Hopkins will not need surgery, Chao said.

A.J. Green, Christian Kirk and Rondale Moore are in line for more targets with Hopkins out.

The 29-year-old finishes the season with 42 catches for 572 yards and 8 touchdowns in 10 games. He missed weeks 9-11 with a hamstring injury.

The Cardinals (10-3) sit one game clear of the Rams at the top of the NFC West. Arizona plays the Lions (1-11-1), Colts (7-6), Cowboys (9-4) and Seahawks (5-8) in its final four games.
