Dee Ford has been ruled out which surprised some around the NFL. Ford began suffering neck spasms on Thursday, which forced the 49ers to list him out Sunday. The concern here potentially goes beyond just the Week 2 game versus the New York Jets. Neck spasms can be easily resolved, but in this case with Ford being ruled out questions arise to how bad is it? The hope here is there’s no disc herniation issue, which causes the spasms and may imply long-term problems. Let’s hope for a short-term absence for the edge rusher.
