Deebo Samuel, the 49ers versatile wide receiver, will miss at least next week's matchup with the Seahawks after suffering a groin strain against the Vikings. Groin strains for wide receivers are concerning, especially for a physical wideout who excels at runs after the catch. While we don't expect Samuel to be out long, it may take more than two weeks for him to be as effective as he has been in his first three seasons.
The 25-year-old has 56 catches for 1,006 yards and 5 touchdowns this season, plus 25 rushes for 203 yards and 5 touchdowns. Second-year receiver Brandon Aiyuk should get more targets with Samuel out and star tight end George Kittle will also likely get more involved.
