Derrius Guice was ineffective with 18 yards on ten carries and eventually suffered a reported meniscus injury during Sunday's loss to the Eagles. The injury was not on the same knee he suffered a torn ACL last preseason which required multiple surgeries to fix complications. Guice is hoping for a meniscus “sprain” but technically that injury doesn’t exist. If meniscus tear, a scope is coming. Even if not, I don't see how Guice can be effective through the month of September now that both knees are less than 100%. I can't tell without definitive video if this is an injury that occurred from compensating for the left knee. The team said he could return as early as next Monday but that is overly optimistic. Now that both knees are injured, it may be in the team and Guice's best interest to take a break. Expect the Redskins to give future Hall of Fame running back Adrian Peterson the ball for the next month especially on first and second down.
