Its clear to me now that the Eagles star wide receiver is dealing with a core muscle injury (sports hernia). The hallmarks of the injury are that the injury is located at the junction of the lower abdominal and groin. He was originally listed with a groin injury and then listed with an abdominal injury. He was seen grabbing his abdominal area on the suspected play he was injured. Jackson recently released an Instagram video of trainer/therapist working on his right upper medial inside groin area. Based on these fact patterns and media reports, a core muscle injury is indeed what he has been fighting through. Surgery is an option but the choice is ultimately up to the player. It would indeed take six weeks to recover. The hope is that he has been recovering and is close to playing. Athletes have played through and finished the season with this kind of injury but the question is how effective can Jackson be without surgery. At this point, my suspicion is that he tries to make a return for the Cowboys game next week. If he suffers a setback he may elect to have surgery to try to return before the season is over.
