We last updated on Jackson only a couple hours ago and we were worried that he wouldn't return this season.Now the Eagles have announced a core muscle repair surgery for the star wide receiver. In our opinion, this was the inevitable and probably the correct choice. The question now is, is it too late for DeSean Jackson to return this season? There were reports of the muscle "being torn off the bone". There were also reports of a four to six week return timeline but for this type of player it will be closer to 6-8 weeks. It is possible that he returns this season for the regular season but it is far from a guarantee at this point. If the Eagles make the playoffs the likelihood of his return increases. I'm sure Jackson and the Eagles wish they would have pulled the trigger on the surgery sooner as he really has not been a contributor since the week one.
