Suns' guard Devin Booker left their Christmas night loss 4:20 into his return after he appeared to aggravate his left groin strain.
After Booker took only three games off after his initial groin injury stemming from his 58-point game, the Pro Basketball Docs expect that he will miss multiple weeks to fully heal the issue.
Booker has averaged 27.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.6 assists on 47.7% shooting this season and the Suns are 18-10 when he has played at least 24 minutes and 1-5 when he is out or left with injury.
The 26-year-old scored the first Phoenix basket with 10:38 in the first quarter and finished 1-2 in the game.
Twenty-five-year-old journeyman Landry Shamet came in for Booker and scored a team-high 31 points with six assists on 7-17 from three.
Booker joins 3-and-D wing Cameron Johnson on the sideline, leaving the Suns without two of their top-four scorers.
Johnson underwent a meniscectomy on November 8 to repair a torn right meniscus and is approaching the end of the anticipated 1-to-2 month return timeline.
