Devin Booker Leaves With Hamstring Injury, Status Unclear For Game 3

Suns' star Devin Booker left Game 2 mid-way through the third quarter with an apparent right hamstring injury.

Head coach Monty Williams said ahead of the fourth quarter that Booker won't return to the contest.

NBA on TNT's Allie LaForce reported later in the game that Booker is dealing with right hamstring tightness. Booker missed seven games with a left hamstring strain he suffered on Nov. 30.

He's likely to get an MRI later tonight or tomorrow before the team travels to New Orleans for Friday's game.

Landry Shamet came in for Booker with 4:35 left in the third and Booker went back to the locker room to have his hamstring evaluated. He returned to the bench in his warmup attire ahead of the fourth quarter.

The 25-year-old sharpshooter scored 31 points in the first half, helping Phoenix to an early lead, but didn't score in his 7:25 minutes in the second half on only one shot attempt.

UPDATE:

Williams said during the postgame press conference he believed Booker suffered the injury on his final play in the third quarter.

A video review of the game revealed Booker grabbed at his right hamstring after attempting to chase down Jackson Hayes on a fastbreak dunk.

Booker exited immediately and did not return. Despite having no points in the second half, he led the team in scoring.
