Do Dolphins or Saints Have Health Edge in Monday Night Matchup?

Injury Advantage: Dolphins Defense

With quarterbacks Taysom Hill and Trevor Siemian on the COVID reserve list, rookie Ian Book will make his first career start on Monday night.

The 23-year-old will likely be without three starting offensive linemen, plus the Saints starting tight end and at least two wide receivers.

Right tackle Ryan Ramczyk is on the COVID reserve list and left tackle Terron Armstead is questionable for the game with a nagging knee issue.

Tight end Adam Trautman is also on the COVID reserve list, as is Juwan Johnson, leaving Nick Vannett as the only remaining tight end.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins' only blemish on defense comes at free safety with Jason McCourty on IR for a foot injury. However, Jevon Holland, the second-round pick, has stepped in nicely to shore up the position.

Expect the stout Miami defense to cause problems for Alvin Kamara, Mark Ingram and the depleted Saints offense all night.

Secondary Advantage: Dolphins Run Offense

After losing multiple running backs to the COVID list last week, the Dolphins have a full stable of support on the ground and enter the game with an entirely healthy offensive line.

New Orleans, on the other hand, are without two starting linebackers in Kwon Alexander and Demario Davis.

Malcolm Jenkins will also miss the contest on the COVID reserve list, but C.J. Gardner-Johnson is available to step in at strong safety.

It remains to be seen if the majority of carries will go Myles Gaskin or Duke Johnson, but both backs should be able to find room to run against the Saints.
