Dolphins Place Tua Tagovailoa on IR With Rib Fractures

The Miami Dolphins placed quarterback Tua Tagovailoa on IR Saturday with rib fractures. That means the second-year quarterback will miss at least the next three games, but will be eligible to return Week 6 against the Jaguars. The Alabama alum suffered the injury in the first quarter of Week 2 and did not return to the game. Based on how he was hit and in-game analysis on Sunday, we did not expect Tagovailoa to play in Week 3 and he was ruled out for this week by head coach Brian Flores on Wednesday. Fifth-year quarterback Jacoby Brisett will take over in the meantime and practiced with the first unit all week ahead of the team's matchup with the Raiders. Brissett had 169 passing yards and 1 interception after taking over for Tagovailoa last week against the Bills.
