Tonight we have a five-game NBA DFS slate tipping at 7:00 p.m. EST. As seems to be the case every night in the NBA these days, there are some injury and availability questions around some of the night's top players.
Shake Milton (Philadelphia 76ers — SIC score 73.6)
With James Harden forced to miss tonight with an ailing hamstring, there will be plenty of usage to go around in Philly, which sports a team SIC score of 73.6. Shake Milton is dirt cheap across the industry and should slot right into some of that usage. He's been a key piece on this team for a few years, so we expect him to have a good game in Miami with Harden sidelined. Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey will do most of the heavy lifting, but we expect Milton to get around 25 minutes tonight, which should be enough for him to return value.
Max Strus (Miami Heat — SIC score 85.0)
The Heat may be rocking a solid SIC score of 85.0, but with Kyle Lowry out for personal reasons and Jimmy Butler questionable with a toe issue, Max Strus has a chance to shine again tonight. He's dealing with a shoulder injury as well but played well last game, scoring 21 points in relief against Brooklyn. Tonight he matches up against Philadelphia in one of the lower totals on the slate. Fortunately, Strus' price is still down across the industry, so the 3-point specialist makes for a fine value play at SG.
Klay Thompson (Golden State Warriors — SIC score 85.4)
Klay was a nice shot in the arm to a Warriors team when he made his long-awaited debut from injury a few months ago. He's steadily seen his workload ramp up and is still at mid-tier pricing across the DFS industry. The Warriors are also dealing with Draymond Green's back injury, so Klay will need to continue taking some of the load off Stephen Curry's shoulders. He gets a nice spot tonight on the road against a struggling Lakers squad.
Malik Monk (Los Angeles Lakers — SIC Score 76.2)
The Lakers are in desperation mode as they look to make a final push toward the postseason, and the injury issues that have led to a 76.2 team score are a big part of their struggles. The Anthony Davis injury has exposed a lot of weaknesses on this team and the Russell Westbrook project just doesn't seem to work. Insert Malik Monk, who has been a breath of fresh air this season. The Lakers will need Monk to give them a scoring boost, especially with LeBron James dealing with a sore knee. He's a capable scorer and has popped off for big DFS games at a marginal price.
