As expected, Dew Brees was placed on injured reserve. Between the five rib fractures and collapsed lung the estimated time for return is four weeks, which is beyond the minimum three week injured reserve timeline.This move clears up a roster spot and helps the Saints improve week to week. He is projected to return in December and will be a full go when he returns, with no residual effects.
