Brees is listed as questionable and has been replaced by Teddy Bridgewater. The Sanits' QB is on the sideline with a wrap on his thumb/wrist. By video, he injured his right throwing thumb on follow through, as he naturally pronated jamming the thumb into Aaron Donald's hand. The majority of the tape is to his wrist, but the injury is to his thumb. The wrist wrap is used to anchor the thumbs stability. He was seen on the sideline having his thumb's stability examined. The worry is for ulnar collateral ligament sometimes called 'Game Keepers' thumb. The thumb is vital for a QB to grip/throw the ball and affects accuracy. If indeed the ligament is torn it has ended other QB's seasons before with surgery including Andy Dalton, Jay Cutler and Jacoby Brissett. The hope is just a sprain, but there is significant worry for the Saints QB moving forward.
