Drew Brees was sacked and landed on by a San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman.The defender landed on his right upper torso, this appears to be an injury to his chest/ribs. This has nothing to do with his right shoulder injury. Jameis Winston will replace Brees and this appears to be a 100% a coaching decision. It looked like Brees was lobbying to return to the game but Sean Payton clearly said no. The team would much rather go with a fully healthy Winston compared to a somewhat hurt Brees.
