The Philadelphia Eagles are facing another setback as star tight end Dallas Goedert suffered a hamstring injury in the first quarter of their Week 5 matchup against the Cleveland Browns.

Goedert was hurt on the team's opening drive, after a third-down pass intended for him was batted away by Browns’ safety Rodney McLeod. This led to a three-and-out, and Goedert exited the field, heading to the locker room for evaluation.

Although Goedert returned to the sideline later in the game, he was ruled out.

His absence leaves the Eagles with just two active tight ends: Grant Calcaterra and Jack Stoll.

Goedert’s injury comes at a time when he was on pace for a career-best season, with 24 catches for 301 yards through four games. His standout performance included a remarkable 170-yard game against the New Orleans Saints in Week 3.

The Eagles had been feeling optimistic after key players like A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Lane Johnson returned to the lineup following the bye week, but Goedert's injury could be a significant blow to their offense moving forward. In Week 7 the Eagles face the Giants in an important NFC east matchup.

Stay tuned for updates on Dallas Godert.
