The 49ers receiver had his helmet knocked off after being folded up on a tackle. He left the game clutching at his anterior rib area several plays later. By video, he appears to suffer a rib cartilage injury in the earlier play and left the game without returning. This is not a long-term injury but can be a nagging injury to a wide receiver. This could end up costing him some time and we will monitor his status as we approach week 11. It does seem to be similar to the rib cartilage injury that Julian Edelman suffered earlier this season for the Patriots. (Indeed reports the day after had X-rays negative and an MRI pending which is consistent with rib cartilage injury)
