An MRI for Giants tight end Evan Engram was was done for a "little bit of a sore foot" yesterday and the scan was sent for a second opinion with a foot specialist. He is now announced to have a mid-foot sprain, and is in a walking boot. He’s listed as day to day. This essentially means he has a lisfranc injury, similar to Cam Newton, but hopefully mild in severity. Engram illicitly said the injury to his left foot is not a lisfranc injury. Technically if the use of lisfranc injury is equated to lisfranc fracture then he is absolutely correct. However the lisfranc joint is indeed the specific name for the midfoot thus a mid-foot sprain can be called a lisfranc sprain. Ingram doesn't have a classic lisfranc injury / fracture but he does have a mid-foot sprain which is actually a sprain of the lisfranc joint. He will not play this week against the Jets, Given a review of game film, I did not see a specific play and I am not expecting a major or long-term injury or injured reserve.
