Ezekiel Elliot had a calf contusion that he played through last week. Now Mike McCarthy said Elliot is behind this week. Calf injuries tend to linger, and this may be enough for the Cowboys to sit their highly paid running back. If the team was in a contested race for the playoffs, Elliot would likely play. Since the team is nearly eliminated from the postseason, Elliot could be shut down for the remainder of this year.
