Cordarrelle Patterson, the Falcons running back, injured his right ankle in the first quarter of Week 10 against the Cowboys. By video, his right ankle was trapped on a tackle and he appeared to suffer a mild high ankle sprain. He was seen getting taped on the sideline, but tape doesn't do enough to stabilize the ankle for high ankle sprains. He has not been given a designation, but he should have difficulty returning and being effective.
Update
Patterson returned to the game, but has not had many touches. The Falcons play the Patriots on Thursday next week and we are not optimistic about the running back's chances of playing effectively.
