Here’s a closer look at 5 Must-Watch Players Making a Comeback from ACL Injuries

Daniel Jones - SIC Score 92

Daniel Jones suffered two significant injuries last season. After a hard hit on a sack, he sustained a neck hyperextension and was evaluated for a concussion, causing him to miss three games. Upon his return, he suffered a torn ACL, which ended his season. Jones is ready for the start of training camp and will not be on the Giants' initial PUP list.

Kendrick Bourne - SIC Score 36

Kendrick Bourne suffered a torn ACL in Week 8 of the 2023 season. Despite the injury, Bourne secured a three-year contract extension with the Patriots, potentially worth up to $33 million. Given the timing of his injury, Bourne has had ample time to recover. He may face early-season challenges as he regains his explosiveness and dynamic cutting ability but could have a decent second half, which could help fantasy players down the stretch.

Mike Williams - SIC Score 73

Mike Williams joined the Jets in the offseason after tearing his left ACL in Week 3 last season while with the Chargers. Pro Football Docs are optimistic that Williams will be ready to play when the Jets face the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football in Week 1. Known for his straight-line speed and deep-threat capabilities, Williams' play style, which relies less on cutting and precise route running, is expected to aid his return. He will be the WR2 behind Garrett Wilson.

Nick Chubb - SIC Score 31

Nick Chubb played only two games last season before sustaining a major knee injury that led to two separate surgeries. Following his injury, Chubb underwent successful knee surgery on September 29, 2023, to repair his medial capsule, meniscus, and medial collateral ligament (MCL). Later, on November 14, 2023, he had another successful surgery on his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Recently, Chubb has been seen on video squatting over 500 lbs. Although he has not yet been cleared for football activities, he has reportedly been progressing positively toward a return this season.

TJ Hockenson - SIC Score 61

TJ Hockenson suffered a torn ACL and MCL in Week 17 of the regular season last year. He is currently on the PUP list rehabbing that injury but is considered ahead of schedule, according to head coach Kevin O’Connell. The expectation is that he will be ready sometime after the September 8th opener. Hockenson, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, had a career-high 960 receiving yards in 15 games last season.
