University of Connecticut Huskies - (#2 Seed in Bridgeport Region)
The Huskies lost depth forward Dorka Juhasz to a fractured wrist in the Elite Eight thriller over NC State.
Juhasz, a transfer from Ohio State, was in a depth role for UConn, but luckily the team has a deep rotation.
The other injury concern is for star sophomore guard Paige Bueckers. She has played just 15 games this season after suffering an anterior tibial plateau fracture and lateral meniscus tear on Dec. 5.
Bueckers made her return on Feb. 25, but played limited minutes until the start of the tournament.
She has hit her stride lately and her left knee has looked better as the tournament has progressed.
The sophomore scored 27 points on 66.7% shooting in the double overtime win over NC State. Bueckers and senior guard Christyn Williams were co-leading scorers during the regular season.
The Huskies will need Bueckers scoring contributions against a tough Stanford defense that allowed 56.6 points per game to opponents.
Stanford Cardinal - (#1 Seed in Spokane Region)
The Pac-12 powerhouse has had minimal health issues all season. Stanford has nine players who have played 30 or more games, including the top five scorers on the team.
The Cardinal sport a balanced scoring approach, with eight players averaging four or more points per game.
Senior guard Lexie Hull has led the team in scoring the last three games, while sophomore forward Cameron Brink and junior guard Haley Jones have been dominant on the boards.
UConn ranked 14th in the nation in points allowed per game with 54.6. The Cardinal ranked 27th in scoring this season with 73.9 points per game, while the Huskies were 22nd with 74.8 points per game.
Stanford is +350 to win the tournament and UConn is +250, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
