Fred Warner, the 49ers Pro Bowl middle linebacker, injured his right ankle just before halftime against the Bengals, but has a chance to return. By video, Warner was trailing the play when he stepped on a player's foot and appeared to suffer a right inversion ankle sprain. He has a solid chance to return next defensive series after getting his ankle taped.
The 25-year-old leads the team with 92 combined tackles this season. If Warner can't continue, Marcell Harris would likely step in as middle linebacker.
