Game 2 Matchup Health Preview: Utah Jazz vs. Dallas Mavericks

Check out the Game 2 Court View here.

Utah Jazz - SIC Team Health Score 92.8

Despite some early season health issues, including a calf strain to Rudy Gobert, the Jazz are healthy now and operating at near full capacity.

The lone health issue bugging them right now is the absence of backup guard Trent Forest. The rookie out of Florida State has not played since suffering a left midfoot sprain on April 6.

He averaged just 12.8 minutes for Utah this season, but saw action in 60 games.

The Jazz also lost veteran 3-point specialist Joe Ingles to a torn ACL at the end of January, but Bojan Bogdanovic (FD $6,200) has filled that role well. Danuel House Jr. (FD $3,700) has also seen increased minutes.

Donovan Mitchell (FD $8,600) has also seen his workload increase with Ingles out. Since Ingles’ injury Mitchell has averaged 26.4 points, 5.6 assists and 4.6 rebounds in 27 games.

Dallas Mavericks - SIC Team Health Score 70.7

Without versatile scoring threat Luka Doncic, the Mavericks struggled to score in Game 1.

Dallas averaged 112.5 points against Utah in the regular season, but managed just 93 points in the playoff-opening loss on Saturday.

Jalen Brunson (FD $7,300) and Spencer Dinwiddie (FD $7,000) attempted to step up their offensive production with Doncic out, but Dinwiddie had a rough shooting night finishing 6-15 from the floor and 0-4 from 3.

Reggie Bullock (FD $4,400) also took advantage of more opportunities on offense. He launched eight 3-pointers, his highest number of attempts since seven games ago.

Dallas didn’t seem to have trouble limiting the Jazz on defense, but will likely have to figure out more answers on offense to have a chance in Game 2.

Injury-based Plays

Jazz -5 - Utah holds a 10+ SIC score advantage over the Mavericks. When that happens teams are 22-10-2 against the spread.

Jalen Brunson O34.5 Points, Rebounds and Assists - he went over this mark in Game 1 and will continue to have an increased role on offense with Doncic out.
