The 49ers starting tight end injured his left knee on the first offensive play of the game last night. He hyperextended his knee but I not did not see any serious structural damage and his ligaments should be intact. The worry is a bone bruise. Kittle returned to play well however the knee progressively got stiffer once the game reached the 4th quarter. I expect an MRI here and I hope he can avoid a bone bruise. It would not surprise me if he missing going into his game next Monday. Depending on the location of the bone bruise, the bruise can get worse and have long-term consequences including a six week absence if severe enough.
