The newly signed Dallas Cowboy, Gerald McCoy, will be out for the season after rupturing his right quad. The 32-year-old signed a three-year deal worth just north of $18M in March. He was unable to to put any pressure on the right leg, as expected after such a devastating injury. He will require surgery and even if the Cowboys go on a long playoff run, McCoy has no shot to return this season. The quad tendon attaches to the top of the patella and is responsible for the majority of ones power to run, jump and take on blocks as one actively extends the knee. This major tendon with four major muscles attached to it requires extensive rehab that often takes longer and is harder than rehabbing an ACL injury.
