Guardians Injury Report: José Ramírez Starting One Day After Fouling Ball Off Shin

Guardians do-it-all third baseman José Ramírez fouled a ball off his right shin during Thursday's game against the Reds and underwent X-Rays, but is starting at third base and batting third today against the Reds.

The 29-year-old remained in Thursday's game after the foul ball and knocked in an AL-leading 34th RBI on the next pitch. He was then lifted for a pinch runner.

After the game, manager Terry Francona said the foul ball caught Ramírez right above the protective shin guard he wears on the right shin.

Ramírez is slashing .280/.377/.553 through 35 games with 8 home runs, 34 RBIs and 20 walks.
