Veteran point guard Kyle Lowry is progressing towards a return to the Heat in their second-round series against the 76ers.
The Heat, up 2-0, upgraded Kyle Lowry to questionable for Friday's Game 3.
The 36-year-old has missed the past four games since suffering a left hamstring strain on April 22.
Game 3 was, coincidentally, the Heat’s only loss this postseason, and they were up by 13 points when he left the floor.
His addition would be a boon for the Heat, who carried an SIC Health score of 85.9 and a plus-17 advantage into Game 2 over the Joel Embiid-less 76ers.
The self-described wolverine was adamant after the injury that he would play in the next game, but has nonetheless spent the last two weeks rehabbing the injury.
Miami has cruised to four consecutive wins but will head to Philadelphia for the next two games in the series. Role players notoriously struggle on the road in the postseason, meaning the production from surprise contributors Max Strus, Gabe Vincent, and DeWayne Dedmon will likely drop off.
Lowry is averaging 8.3 points, 5.3 assists, and 3.7 rebounds on 34.8% shooting in the playoffs. For his career, the 2019 NBA champion has posted averages of 15.3 points, 5.7 assists, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.3 steals on 41.8% shooting in 100 career playoff games.
