All eyes have been on Luka Doncic and the status of his calf injury throughout the Jazz/Mavericks series.
Doncic is reportedly progressing towards a return in Game 4, with the plan to play him in limited minutes.
The 23-year-old has not played since suffering the left calf strain on April 10, but reportedly practiced back-to-back days and told reporters he's not experiencing any pain or discomfort.
While that is certainly good news, the real concern with Doncic's calf injury is reaggravation.
A reaggravation of the lingering calf strain would knock him out the rest of the opening series and likely most of the second round if the Mavericks advance.
That is likely the primary reason why the team has been cautious and patient with bringing him back.
Doncic has an SIC player health score of 72 for Game 4, according to our panel of ProBasketballDocs.
Because of his play style, unique size and ball handling ability, he can be effective in limited minutes.
His main downgrade is on the defensive end and the ball likely cannot run through him on offense, according to the ProBasketballDocs.
Expect Jalen Brunson to continue as the focal point on offense with Doncic serving mostly as a spot up shooter and occasional play maker.
The Mavericks are 5.5-point underdogs in Game 4 and the over/under is 212.5, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
