Hiding Behind Health: Tyrod Taylor Sits For Davis Mills

The Texans have announced the starting of QB Davis Mills for the rest of season after Tyrod Taylor left last weeks' game with a torn ligament in his left wrist. Taylor was replaced by Mills due to a coaching decision after Taylor suffered the injury. Earlier in the week before Week 13, head coach David Culley alluded to Mills getting game action if "something" happen to Taylor and indeed that is what occurred. Taylor was healthy enough to return to the game and has logged full practices this week solidifying he is healthy enough to play but will resort to back-up status going forward.  This falls in line with teams hiding behind health and having ulterior motives while using injuries to make decisions. Last season, the Rams and 49ers used tactics like these to to bench a QB in the playoffs and draft a QB in the first round respectively. Both managed this by hiding behind an injury to their starting QBs when in theory they were healthy enough to start for their respective teams. Now, the Texans have joined in and will see what they have in Mills while Taylor plays backup quarterback.
